The WDO Board of Directors Report 2023
This year the WDO held a total of 21 World and European Championships. Then together with Recognised events and the return of the prestigious Asian Tour with Grand Slam titles, helped the couples compete in high level events earning prize money all over the world. The WDO once again wish to extend their sincere thanks to all Organisers for their support for the WDO and to the Competitors that attended.
This year saw the first Ranking Awards being presented to the top Amateur and Professional couples in Bournemouth in January. A total of £30,300.00 will be given by the WDO to the Competitors highest ranked over the series of events. Once again, proving that the WDO members money will be put back into our industry whenever possible. We are delighted to announce the 2nd Ranking Awards will be held once again in Bournemouth in 2024 for our registered couples, with the same £30,300.00 to be awarded.
We can happily report that the new Directors voted by you our members at last year’s AGM have been a great addition to the WDO. Also, we believe our Committees are working better than ever and we the Board wish to thank the Committee members for their hard work and time, which they give completely free of charge.
The Board of Directors meet monthly in 4 hour meetings to continue the improvement of the WDO and for the betterment of dancers and people who love dancing. We stand united in our beliefs for fairness, integrity, and freedom, for all.
